wonderfully made: kelsea from overwhelmed by grace

Good morning friends! This week's Wonderfully Made Woman is Kelsea, from the blog Overwhelmed by Grace. I recently connected with Kelsea and I have to say, she is one of the sweetest bloggers ever! Her blog is full of great recipes, daily tidbits, natural living, and adorable photos of her baby boy.

Hi! I'm Kelsea, a twenty-something wife and new mom! I've had a ton of life changes since I started my blog three years ago, including graduating college, getting married, starting a new job, buying a house, getting pregnant, and becoming a mom for the first time. I've chronicled the good, the bad, and the real. I write about my family, food, faith, being a mama, and all that lies in between. I absolutely love being inspired by the blogs I come across and the connections being in this world bring. I'd love if you stopped by my blog and got to know me a little more!
My Awareness: I've always been keenly aware and observant of what is going on around me. I notice when someone I don't even know is having a rough day. I can usually tell when you're lying to me. I pick up on moments that not many others do. I notice facial expressions, mutters under the breath, and glances.I also pick up on things like body language, how someone might be feeling, and I remember conversations and things about people they probably assume I've forgotten. I'm not easily manipulated and I pretty quickly get a feel for the type of personality another person has. I like that, in the words of my husband, "not much gets by" me.

My Hair: My hair has been long since about fourth grade. I've had different variations of long, but I've never had it cut short since the time I wanted to have a bob that matched my friend and then decided to get a perm to match that same friend. The results were not pretty. Think poodle with bangs. Anyway, since I stopped dyeing it in college, my hair is so healthy and thick. I love how it lays when it's curled and how soft it is!

My Silliness: There are only a handful of people in my life who truly know just how silly I can be. I love cracking corny jokes, find the weirdest things funny, and am a little awkward, too. Because I KNOW that I'm a little awkward, I make a conscious effort most times not to care, then just end up acting ridiculously goofy. I've got a home video from when I was six to prove it. I like that I can be lighthearted and silly. What would life be without those kind of moments?
What confidence means to me: Hmmmm...confidence. It's a touchy subject. Too little, and it's obvious. Too much, and you're arrogant. I think that for me, confidence is a choice. I can choose to compare myself to others or base my emotions off of what I think someone else might think of me. Or I can choose to hold my head up, own myself, and put a smile on my face. I think confidence has everything to do with how we see ourselves, and choosing to surround ourselves with people who care about us and accept us for who we are makes a world of difference. Like what you like, listen to what you listen to, wear what you love, commit with your heart. The times I've felt most confident are when I've decided to be true to myself and choose ahead of time to own whatever IT is in that moment that makes me...me!

Thanks for sharing, Kelsea! Be sure to check out her sweet blog and connect with her elsewhere :)
