Upon moving into our home over a year ago now (my, how time passes!), I discovered to my delight that we had inherited several peony plants. As the spring continued, I watched them bud and grow and spent their peak season gathering bundles of blooms to display around the house.
The peonies came back this year, better and bigger than before--and after a few had decayed in the vase, I was left in awe of the beautiful peach-pink hues the drying petals took on, and delayed tossing them so I could capture them in photos.
The loveliness of impermanence.
